In a Viral Video, Javed Akhtar Reminds Pakistan of the 2008 Mumbai Attack and Declares, "The Perpetrators Are Still at Large."
In a video from the Lahore film festival that has gone viral, Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar is seen reminding Pakistan of the 26/11 terror strikes and the fact that the perpetrators are still at large.
Recently, the renowned Bollywood lyricist and author Javed Akhtar, who has been credited with numerous Bollywood classics, attended an event in Pakistan. The event was arranged in honour of the legendary Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and Akhtar spoke with both the poets and the audience. A video has leaked on the internet in which the veteran author is heard blaming Pakistan of enabling the perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai attacks to travel the nation freely. He also remarked that the neighbouring country should not feel bad about the Indians' animosity.
In the video, a renowned songwriter discusses defusing tension between two neighbouring countries. In the video, he is heard saying, "We should not blame each other. It will fix nothing. The environment is tight and needs to be relaxed. We are Mumbai residents who witnessed the attack on our city. The perpetrators were neither Norwegian nor Egyptian. They are still at large in your nation. Hence, if a Hindustani has a problem, you should not feel uncomfortable."
(Jo garam hai fiza, woh kam honi chahiye. Hum toh Bambaiye log hain. Hamne dekha wahan kaise hamla hua tha. Wo log Norway se toh nahi aaye the naa Egypt se aaye the, wo log apne mulk me ghum rahe hain. Toh ye shikayat agar Hindustani ke dil mein ho toh aapko bura nahi manna chahiye," Akhtar can be heard saying in Hindi.)
In answer to a request to carry the message of peace with him when he returns to India, he made this comment. The individual remarked, "You have travelled to Pakistan numerous times. When you return home, do you inform your people that these are good people who not only bomb us but also greet us with garlands and love?"
Akhtar further emphasised that while India has always welcomed and hosted Pakistani icons, the same cannot be said about Indian artists, who have not been welcomed in Pakistan. "We hosted Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hasan's major events. You (Pakistan) have never hosted an event honouring Lata Mangeshkar, correct? "The poet's words were met with thunderous applause and cheers from the audience.
As soon as the video was uploaded to the Internet, it quickly became viral. Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who has been at odds with the veteran lyricist-writer, also posted the video on Twitter and wrote, "I've been at odds with him." "Jab main Javed saab ki poetry sunti hoon toh lagta tha yeh kaise Maa Swarsati ji ki in pe itni kripa hai, lekin dekho kuch toh sachchai hoti hai insaan mein tabhi toh khudai hoti hai unke saath mein … Jai Hind @Javedakhtarjadu saab….. Ghar mein ghuss ke maara .. ha ha."
The 2008 terrorist strike in Mumbai resulted in the deaths of about 175 individuals. At least ten Lashkar-e-Taiba militants from Pakistan attacked buildings in Mumbai and committed the slaughter. During the attacks, nine of the gunmen were killed and one survived. In November 2012, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, the sole surviving gunman, was executed. The assailants had taken a boat from Karachi, Pakistan, to Mumbai, India
